We returned to tradition this year and gathered at the farm for Christmas. I loved the whole idea of returning there, but also miss gathering at our home too. I don't know if this will be a "new" tradition for us, but my eye is always on the horizon anticipating the view.
Needless to say, we had plenty to eat, were overly blessed with gifts, and the time passed all too quickly as the siblings and their children tested the old and new toys. One of the most interesting events was the claiming of the kitchen floor. Most of us spent some time reflecting on the detail of the floor and the magnificence of the ceiling fan. And we also just laid there and smiled at each other. There is always a new adventure to be had.
Here is a shot of Evan contemplating; it was one of the few seconds he was still:)
We had many laughs, lots of sighs, and so much remembering - parents, grandparents, parenting, and the level of energy it takes to be under 4 and over 30.
It was a grand time at Grand View.
