Mission Accomplished!

The only thing we were missing was a score written for goose island repair. Compared to last year's dousing, this year's repair was simply and beautifully a water ballet. There is part of me that keeps wondering how Donnie could be so well organized and equipped this year and not last year. I thought he liked me. Evidently he wanted a different boatman, so Bruce and Ann Hansen came to the rescue. Ann and I held down the chairs on the shore line while the "men" did the work. The icing on the cake was watching Bruce play Martha Stewart as Donnie slid by the nest and Bruce deposited the fresh hay in one smooth movement. Poetry in motion I think they call it!

Needless to say it was a job well done and better done because I didn't do it. We had a traditional lunch at M.C. Grille with the cutest little ice cream cones and then just relaxed in the glorious sun.

We managed to finish the map puzzle (what a challenge) and I read a book and started another. I also did a little cleaning and some wash. Donnie did some odds and ends outside and then, all too quickly, it was time to head home. Oh - we did squeeze in a nice bike ride to Carl and back through Mt. Etna. It wasn't as chilly as I thought it was going to be, but for the first official trip of the year, it was long enough. The bike is still at the farm waiting for warmer weather.

To all of you who commented, applied, or simply ignored the employment opportunity, don't worry, your application or lack thereof, has been filed and you will be contacted in the future. That's a promise. Emily wins the prize for the best application. It is a treasure of words.

Enjoy the pictures. There are more on my picasa site.

The view from the shore was just as grand as the view from the goose island! Really.
